Rendang Padang Recipe - Spicey beef with Coconut

Padang cuisine is very popular in Indonesia, do not wonder if a lot of Padang Cuisine restaurants spread almost throughout Indonesia. Rendang Padang Recipe


  • 1 ½ kg beef 
  • 12 glasses of milk from three coconuts 
  • 2 seed asam kandis (Garcinia Globulosa /dark sun-dried sour fruit) 
  • 1 stalk lemongrass, crushed 
  • 1 turmeric leaf 
  • 2 kaffirlime leaves 
  • salt suficiently
  • 1 ounce of red finger length chilies 
  • 15 pieces of shallots 
  • 6 cloves garlic 
  • 5 pieces of hazelnut 
  • 2 cm ginger 
  • 3 cm fresh galangal, peeled and sliced
How to make:

slice a beef into a pieces  (optional).
In a skillet: boiled coconut milk with spices also the mashed leaves and asam kandis (
Garcinia Globulosa /dark sun-dried sour fruit). Stir constantly until coconut milk thickened, it is intended to make coconut milk not brokenIf the oil from coconut milk mixture is already starting out, add pieces  of beef. Stir constantly and cook over medium heat. 

If you want to make a Rendang Padang  more black, reduce the fire and cook longer.For more “kicked” taste, you can add the spices like chili, garlic, and shallots little more.
